Heilpflanzenwohl GmbH offers plant-based and homeopathic medicines, medical devices, dietary supplements and cosmetics in twelve brands – for joints, gut and digestion, intimate health, blood sugar and metabolism, pain and prevention. There are four product types: medicines (plant-based, traditionally used or homeopathic), medical devices (e.g. Mastu, Döderlein vaginal capsules), dietary supplements (e.g. Green Naturals, VSL#3, Nyrax) and cosmetics (e.g. Döderlein protective ointment INTIM). The product type is shown as a label on every product page.

Medicines are subject to medicines law: they are approved or registered and come with a package leaflet listing indications, contraindications and side effects. Dietary supplements are classed as food, complement the diet and must not carry medicinal claims.

A medical device achieves its main effect by physical or mechanical means, not pharmacologically – for example through a protective barrier or moisturising. At Heilpflanzenwohl GmbH these include Mastu ointment and suppositories as well as Döderlein vaginal capsules, vaginal suppositories Plus and moisturising cream. The instructions for use apply.

Cosmetics are care products for skin and the intimate area, such as the Döderlein protective ointment INTIM or the Rheumagil Cannabis Aktiv cream. Cosmetics have no medicinal effect and are not medicines.

Homeopathic medicines such as Gelencium drops, Rheumagil tablets, Lumbagil or Glycowohl drops contain highly diluted active substances (potencies, e.g. D4). Their indications are derived from homeopathic remedy pictures and are given in the package leaflet.

For traditional herbal medicines such as Sweatosan, use is based solely on long-standing use. The indication is registered; efficacy in the sense of a clinical approval is not thereby proven.

Omniflora (Omniflora N as a medicine, plus dietary supplements and a medical device) and VSL#3 (dietary supplement with 8 bacterial strains as sachets and capsules).

Glycowohl (drops as a homeopathic medicine plus dietary supplements) for blood sugar and metabolism, and Refigura (dietary supplements and Fucus drops) for weight management.

That depends on the individual product. Many dietary supplements, such as those from Green Naturals, are vegan; details are given under ingredients and notices on the product page. For medicines, the package leaflet applies.

Yes, liquid forms such as Gelencium drops, Glycowohl drops or Lumbagil contain ethanol. The exact amount is given in the package leaflet and in the mandatory text on the product page.

No. Dietary supplements complement the diet and replace neither a balanced diet nor treatment prescribed by a doctor. The recommended daily intake must not be exceeded.

No. Glycowohl drops are a homeopathic medicine used as an adjunct in diabetes mellitus. They do not replace treatment prescribed by a doctor; please ask your doctor or pharmacist about use.

Heilpflanzenwohl GmbH’s medicines are OTC products, i.e. not prescription-only; they are available in pharmacies. Dietary supplements, medical devices and cosmetics are also available without prescription. Status information is given on each product page.

The Pharmazentralnummer (PZN) is the 8-digit number German pharmacies use to identify medicines and pharmacy products unambiguously. It is printed on the pack and shown in the key facts of the product pages.

NRV stands for nutrient reference value, the recommended daily intake of a vitamin or mineral. The nutrition tables give the amount per daily dose and the share of the NRV in percent.

Yes. Heilpflanzenwohl GmbH is a GMP-certified pharmaceutical company. In Switzerland it is regulated by Swissmedic, in Germany by the BfArM and the LaGeSo.

GMP stands for “Good Manufacturing Practice” – binding quality rules for the manufacture and testing of medicines.
